Saturday, June 29
Join your friends and family this June 29 on a bike touring adventure of the Morgan Hill region you’ll long remember. On our Freedom Fest Bike Classic, you’ll discover why many avid bike riders consider the rural southern region of Santa Clara Valley one of Northern California’s top cycling destinations.
We give you a choice of four bike tours of varying challenge levels:
· For families with young riders, we offer a six-mile tour along the safe and beautiful Coyote Creek Trail, a paved and level path where you can see wildlife such as bobcats and redtail hawks as well as model airplanes circling overhead.
· If you want a little more challenge, we offer a 13-mile as well as a 30-mile bike tour along the Coyote Creek Trail.
· If you’re an advanced rider who seeks out the ultimate cycling journeys, consider our 100 kilometer (62 miles) tour winding through the rural backroads of Morgan Hill, San Martin, and Gilroy. With rest stops every 15 miles, our popular 100K challenge will take you through oak-covered foothills and redwood mountain valleys as well as near several of our region’s most beautiful wineries and county parks.
Whichever tour you decide to join, you can feel proud knowing you’re supporting Morgan Hill’s annual Freedom Fest parade and family events, a family-fun tradition since 1894.
There will be Day of Event Registration Available (for a slightly higher fee).
All bike events will begin and end at the Morgan Hill trailhead for the Coyote Creek Trail, which is located at the Anderson Lake County Park Ranger office on Malaguerra Avenue.
This event is designed to provide an activity for all members of the family and features four levels:
100k Tour: This route takes riders through the backroads of Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy, and provides 3378 ft. of climbing. Rest stop are spaced approximately every 15 miles. MAP: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1335425/embed
